US Senator Ben Cardin Enters Tribute To Twelve Immortal Justices in Congressional Record

You will be pleased to know that US Senator Ben Cardin has entered a tribute to The Twelve Immortal Justices in The Congressional Record on October 1, 2015.  The statement begins at the bottom of page S7096 on the attached file.  

The Senator's Legislative Aide will bring a formal presentation copy to present as part of the commemorative events on November 21.

Bielobocky Recipient of SAR's Martha Washington Medal

The Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Maryland Society of Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) recently honored Ruth Bielobocky, owner of Ion Design, a Frederick-based design and marketing firm, with the SAR’s Martha Washington Medal.  The medal was presented at the SAR Chapter’s semi-annual meeting at Dutch’s Daughter Restaurant.

SAR Honors Robert Higdon With War Service Medal

In ceremonies at its 2015 semi-annual meeting the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution honored Robert Paul Higdon with the SAR’s War Service Medal in recognition of his honorable service in the armed forces of the United States.  Robert Higdon served in the United States Army in ground operations against hostile forces in the Republic of Vietnam.

Robert Higdon is a lineal descendant of American Patriot Levi Harrod, who fought in the battles of the American Revolution in support of  the cause of American Independence.

Revolutionary War Patriot Remembered

The Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) honored Revolutionary War Patriot Peter Baird (Beard) by installing a brass marker at his grave in Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church cemetery (formerly St. Peter's Rocky Hill Lutheran Church) on Coppermine Road in Woodsboro earlier this month.

Brown, a member of the Carrollton Manor Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), with the SAR’s Martha Washington Medal.  The medal was presented at the SAR Chapter’s Annual Meeting at Dutch’s Daughter Restaurant.

Frederick Town Fife and Drum Receives A $10,000 Donation From SAR Member George B. Delaplaine Jr

Pictured with George B. Delaplaine, Jr. are Frederick Town Fife and Drums’ (FTFD) newest members, their parents, FTFD instructors, its staff and members of the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.  The musical ensemble gathered for a special practice to thank Delaplaine for honoring the corps with his generous personal gift.  

SAR Honors Byers With Law Enforcement Commendation Medal

The Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Maryland Society of Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) recently honored Lieutenant Eric C. Byers, Commander of the Criminal Investigation Section of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Department, with the SAR’s Law Enforcement Commendation Medal.  The medal was presented at the SAR Chapter’s Semi-Annual Meeting at Dutch’s Daughter Restaurant.

SAR Welcomes New Members

Three lineal descendants of men who fought in the battles of the American Revolution in support of  the cause of American Independence were inducted recently into the membership of the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.  2015-2016 SAR Chapter President Donald Deering affirms:  “Each Compatriot honors the sacrifice of his forebears with membership in this historical, educational and patriotic organization.”
