Sign Posting of the Samuel Chase Birthplace

After researching the longstanding question of the birthplace of Samuel Chase, Signer of the Declaration of Independence and Supreme Court Justice, our local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be posting a sign marking the propert we are convinced is the site of his birth.

The commemoration will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:30am. For more information, see the attached flyer.

George Washington Luncheon

The George Washington Birthday Luncheon will be held on February 21st, 2015. Social Hour begins at 11:30am and the Luncheon starts at 12:30pm. It will be held at the Towson Golf and Country Club at 12801 Stone Hill Road, Phoenix, MD 21131. The cost will be $40.00 per person. A silent auction is going to be held as well, contact Bill Batton to donate items: 410-877-2455

MDSSAR Annual Meeting

Please save the date for the MDSSAR Annual Meeting, which will be held on Saturday, 18 April 2015.  We'll be in the Freight Room of Baldwin's Station Restaurant located in the historic Victorian railway station of Sykesville, Maryland. A Continental Breakfast will be served at 8:30.  Luncheon at noon will be a sit-down meal consisting of salad, your choice of chicken or tilapia, and a cheesecake dessert.

John Eager Howard Chapter Meeting

Members of SAR, 1812 and others are invited to attend. This occasion will be made more special by several VIPs that will be in attendance and disclosed in the final invitations. For those of you not aware, Jean Fugett is nominee for President and Reginald Lewis is his brother so a very fitting place to hold his election as President. If elected, Jean’s family will become a first for National SAR – 3 generations of an African-American family to be Chapter Presidents in the National SAR’s entire 125 Year history!
