MSA Brown Bag Speaker Series: MD 400

Member Barry McKown has noted an interesting series of free talks at the Annapolis Archives and on June 10th the talk will be about the MD 400. This will be a great talk if you can attend at noon.

As many of you may know the MDSSAR has spent a lot of money for the archives to pull original records and research the lives of each of the MD 400 men plus Smallwood's entire Battalion.

The Treaty of Paris Center presents: Thomas Jefferson

The theme for the Saturday, May 2 session of the Treaty of Paris Center is "Thomas Jefferson," who was a delegate in Congress at Annapolis from November 1783 to May 1784, when he was appointed as a minister to France by Congress. During that time, he helped plan the festivities for a retiring George Washington and coordinated the ratification of the Treaty of Paris. At the Treaty of Paris Center, you'll see documents signed by the 14 presidents before George Washington, including Thomas Mifflin, who presided over the Congress that sent Jefferson to France.
