The 130th Annual Meeting of the Maryland Society of the Sons of the American Revolution will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Dutch’s Daughter Restaurant in Frederick, Maryland. The restaurant is located at 581 Himes Avenue, with ample free parking.
A hot breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, French toast, biscuits, assorted pastries, fresh fruit, and coffee, juice and tea, will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m.
We will once again combine with the DAR and CAR to sponsor a float in the Bel Air parade. Volunteers needed as many of our past volunteers will be at the National Congress in CA that same week. We will need volunteers to man the float, carry the banner, etc. Last year we won first place so the challenge is on to continue the streak. There will be a Chapter luncheon and meeting on 20 April at the Steelefish Grille in Bel Air. Details are in the attached flyer. I will make special mention that our New State President James Perry will attend and install our new Chapter Officers. We will also be presenting a law enforcement medal to a member of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

Compatriots, Please see the attached invitation from Joanne Calvert and the ladies of the DAR. Her DAR chapter is sponsoring a bus trip to Winterthur for "Costuming the Crown" on May 8th. The last time the Delaware Society Hosted the AMS meeting they had this trip and it was outstanding. Winterthur has the largest collection of the original Society of Cincinnatus pieces of china originally owned by George Washington and later purchased by Henry Francis du Pont. The Estate is beautiful and well worth the visit.
The regular dinner meeting of the General William Smallwood Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Rosensteel Knights of Columbus, 9707 Rosensteel Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910. An informal social time will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner and program will start at 7:00 p.m.
