Treaty of Paris Center: After the Declaration of Independence Lecture

On Saturday, July 4, the Treaty of Paris Center at the Maryland Inn on Main Street in Annapolis presents “After the Declaration of Independence: Congress on the Run,” featuring a lecture by Mark Croatti at 2:30pm in the Treaty of Paris Restaurant on Congress fleeing Philadelphia for Baltimore, including who was serving in Congress and what decisions were made in Baltimore.

 

Battle of Brooklyn Bus Trip

The Maryland Society Sons of the American Revolution will be hosting a bus trip to honor the Maryland 400 of Revolutionary War fame on 29 August.  Stops will include the Maryland 400 Monument in Prospect Park and the Old Stone House where the Marylanders fought during the Battle of Brooklyn, also known as the Battle of Long Island.  A flyer will follow as soon as the details are finalized.  This trip is also open to the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Charles Carroll Chapter Meeting

The Charles Carroll of Carrollton Chapter will be holding their quarterly meeting with lunch to follow on Saturday July 11th at noon at Bare Bones, 9150 Baltimore National Pike Ellicott City, MD 21042  All are invited. MSA Brown Bag Speaker Series: MD 400

Member Barry McKown has noted an interesting series of free talks at the Annapolis Archives and on June 10th the talk will be about the MD 400. This will be a great talk if you can attend at noon.

As many of you may know the MDSSAR has spent a lot of money for the archives to pull original records and research the lives of each of the MD 400 men plus Smallwood's entire Battalion.
