241st Anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn – Lunch to follow
The Old Stone House is a reconstruction of the 1699 Vechte-Cortelyou House, located in Washington Park, Brooklyn, New York. The original house was destroyed in 1897 (an excavation recovered some original building materials in 1934). It was the site of the well-known 1776 Battle of Brooklyn, in which many Maryland soldiers’ lives were lost. The site includes a museum with a permanent exhibit on the battle. Please arrive 7:00 to 7:15am. Dillon’s Bus will promptly depart White Marsh Park and Ride at 7:30 am. GPS directions, enter “IKEA, 8352 Honeygo Blvd, White Marsh, MD 21236” The White Marsh Park and Ride is located on the west side of Honeygo Boulevard, adjacent to White Marsh Mall, just south of White Marsh Boulevard (Rte. 43) and just off I-95 (Exit 67). Bus will return to the Park and Ride approximately 6 pm. RSVP by August 4th.
