Maryland Lieutenant Governor Boyd K. Rutherford keynoted the summer social meeting of the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, conducted on August 15th at Dutch's Daughter Restaurant in Frederick. Rutherford's address focused on economic development in the State and in Frederick County. Maryland's Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs George W. Owings, III introduced the Lieutenant Governor and offered remarks on State's services to veterans of the armed forces.
The SAR chapter's summer meeting was organized in a collaborative fashion by a consortium of community organizations, including the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart SAR Chapter, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, City of Frederick Economic Development Department, Frederick County Office of Economic Development, Tourism Council of Frederick County, and the Downtown Frederick Partnership
