The Little Meadows Chapter held their winter meeting on Dec. 5, 2015 at Perkins Restaurant in McHenry, Maryland. The Meritorious Award Medal and Certificate was presented to Terry R. Grove (left) by President Ansel Shircliffe (right). This award is given to an SAR member who has rendered long, faithful and meritorious service to the chapter and SAR. Terry was past chapter president for three years. Terry has been awarded the (SAR) Vietnam Military Service Award and Distinguished Service Award Medal. The Silver Citizenship Award Medal and Certificate was presented to Compatriot Paul Parish (left) by Little Meadows Chapter President Ansel Shircliffe (center) and Maryland SAR President Jim Engler Sr. (right). Paul's award is for military service and 35 years as a local fighter. Paul also has devoted many years service to our community teaching the customs of 18th century way of life. Paul has received the SAR Vietnam Military Service Award. Compatriot Luther Parrack Jr. (right) receiving the chapter's 15 year service pin from Chapter President Ansel Shircliffe (left). Luther Parrack was one of the original members of the chapter in 2000. Luther Parrack has also been a past President of Little Meadows. Robert Rodeheaver also received the 15 year pin but not present at the meeting. Elissa Parish (center) was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from Little Meadows Chapter President Ansel Shircliffe (center) and compatriot husband Paul Parish (left). Elissa has given 42 years service as a nurse in Allegany County, Maryland. Elissa is also being thanked for her continued teaching the community and schools about 18th century customs and their way of life.
