John Hanson Chapter Eagle Scout Award Presentation

George Satterthwaite, Secretary, John Hanson Chapter, presented the SAR Eagle Scout Certificate of Recognition to Isiah M Burroughs, at the Boy Scout Troop 1572 Eagle Scout Court of Honor on November 15, 2014 at St Mary's Church of Piscataway.  Eagle Scout Burroughs compiled a distinguished record up the ladder to Eagle earning 36 merit badges and organizing a youth ID Fair wherein he provided fingerprint IDs to 68 children of all ages. He will graduate from high school in June 2015 and attend college.

 

The picture at the attachment shows a special treat during the ceremony, the presentation of a real Bald Eagle maintained by the Prince Georges County Recreation Department. This one has only one wing so cannot fly but has been cared for and is a beautiful specimen. Eagle Scout Burroughs is pictured at the far right of the picture above the certificate. Pictured with him are is sister, nearly a girl scout Gold award (the highest award), the eagle and the eagle's handler. Under the certificate is his brother a member of the scout troop.
