To: All Compatriots, Prospective Members and Friends of the Chapter and their spouses or significant others.
The regular dinner meeting of the General William Smallwood Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Rosensteel Knights of Columbus, 9707 Rosensteel Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910.
The program for the evening will be Mr. James Johnston presenting “Yarrow Mamout and His Family,” the remarkable story of a man brought to Maryland in 1752 and enslaved for the next forty years. He eventually acquired his freedom and a house in Georgetown, and was the subject of a portrait by renowned artist Charles Willson Peale. We will also have our annual Chapter Awards and install our Officers for 2019-2020.
Please “clip on the line” the reservation slip attached and send it with your check ($35.00 for each person) to Chapter Treasurer Lucas Ginn, or call or email him. It is important that you register by Friday, May 31, 2019 so an adequate number of meals can be reserved.
I look forward to seeing you there.
