The next quarterly dinner meeting of the General William Smallwood Chapter, Maryland Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, will be held on Thursday, June 14, at the Rosensteel Knights of Columbus Clubhouse, 9707 Rosensteel Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910. An informal social time with a cash bar will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner and program will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Compatriot Randolph "Randy" Davis of the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter, Maryland Society was recently honored for his financial support of the SAR Center for Advancing America's Heritage. The SAR’s Center in Louisville, Kentucky was established to help fill the ever-increasing gap in history and civics education within the nation’s school systems.
The Center will provide expanded space for permanent and traveling exhibits, speakers, workshops, summer camps and school programs, plus improved conditions for its internationally-acclaimed genealogical library.
On Friday April 13th Past Presidents David W. Hoover and C. Louis Raborg Jr. presented a wreath on behalf of the Maryland Society at The Jefferson Memorial commemorating the anniversary of Jefferson's 275th birth. President General Larry Guzy also attended and presented a wreath on behalf of the National Society. It was a beautiful day and the Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom. Many of the Ladies of the National Society DAR and 1812 Society were also in attendance.
The Maryland Society SAR held it's annual meeting on Saturday April 21st, 2018 at the Maritime Conference Center in Linthicum Heights, MD. Our new president, James Adkins and the officers that will serve the Maryland Society for this coming year were installed.

1st VP Jim Adkins attended a chapter meeting of the Colonel John Streett Chapter of the DAR to share recent updates concerning the Finding the Maryland 400 Project. The Chapter graciously donated $400 to support the project and they will be recognized in the Honorary Regiment Roster.
