MD 400 Research Project Update

Yesterday I met with Owen Lourie of the Maryland Archives and Adam Goodheart, Patrick Nugent and Jean Wortman of Washington College to discuss next steps to complete the MD 400 Research Project.  The Archives has started the process to advertise for the researcher/intern funded by the MDSSAR.  Additional research efforts funded by the Archives may be applied to the project.

Battle of Brooklyn Heights Bus Trip

Please see the link below which includes the photos taken yesterday, August 20th, during the MDSSAR sponsored trip to Brooklyn to commemorate the sacrifices made by the soldiers from Maryland during the Battle Of Brooklyn (aka Battle of Brooklyn Heights and Battle of Long Island) in August 1776.

This excellent and important event was coordinated by our own Chapter member and MDSSAR 3rd VP Tim Mallory. The ceremony included the placing of the Maryland Society wreath by MDSSAR President William Smithson at the “Maryland 400” monument.
